An aluminum sleeve (often called an oval cable ferrule or duplex sleeve) is a compression fitting used to form secure loops, eyes, or lap splices on wire and synthetic ropes. By compressing the sleeve with hand or pneumatic swaging tools, the malleable aluminum flows into the rope's crevices, creating a permanent termination.
